I highly recommend you read The Poppy War and the Dragon Republic first before starting on your ARC. I'm sure you COULD do it but you will miss out on what makes the trilogy so great. It would be like watching Return of the King without seeing The Fellowship of the Ring or the Two Towers. Not to mention, it will have less emotional impact, character development, and likely will not make much sense to just jump into the final book.
